Apparently, tomorrow night is the full moon.
But it looked so very bright when it was setting this morning behind the mountains here at 6:55. Not the best picture, as I had to take it through the screen window, but you get the idea.

Just took these tonight through the white birch that's in front of our house.

Those are great, Mark - it's hard to get clear shots - I've been trying forever!

Isn't it weird to think that we are all seeing the same moon, no matter where we are?
Posted By: badplanter Re: see the moon! - December 5th, 2006 at 07:25 AM
Yes, very weird--and interesting! laugh
Even though it can look kinda different from our own angles of it.... it's cool to see what everyone else sees, then agian, what you see as well! laugh laugh laugh nutz

Lynn! Great pics of our universal moon! It is cool we can each step outside and share a beautiful moon tonight. I just had to participate so here's mine, nothing special, just a beautiful December full moon on a very cold night in New Orleans!

Your moon looks like the same moon we have here in Tennessee. Could it possibly be the same one?
Posted By: Thornius Re: see the moon! - December 5th, 2006 at 01:51 PM
Thorn debates showing everyone his OTHER "moon".
Posted By: Triss Re: see the moon! - December 5th, 2006 at 02:17 PM
I think the picture I showed would be the same moon, I dunno about seeing your "other" moon though. shk

How many moons do you have in Washington? We have 12 moons in Tennessee. One of them is a single, solid, GIGANTIC diamond! It sparkles REAl purty at night!

I'm loving the responses and pictures in this thread. Stephanie and Triss - your pictures are great. Thorny's too!

Keep 'em coming - tonight is the real full moon for December.

My calendar said that the December's full moon was today, but here are 2 sites that say otherwise.

The moon\'s phase

The Farmer\'s Almanac

I just now noticed, the 2 sites in my last post show different days for the full moon. The Farmer's Almanac says Dec. 4, while the other has it as the evening of Sunday, Dec. 3. Duh
There appears to be some confusion.

Our moon was REALLY bright last night. The sky was soo clear. I was able to go out back and could see everything without having a light on!

I finally saw the moon last night...it wasn't full, but at least I saw it for a few minutes.

Those are terrific, Cindy!
Glad you were able to see it - it was clouded over here, but you could see it glow behind the clouds still.
