hello, I am new here - August 26th, 2006 at 09:41 AM
Hello, gardeners!
My name is Tanya. I love plants: trees, wild flowers, houseplants, outside gardens, you name it. But I have very little experience with growing anything myself. I have a few plants at home. My husband and I are renting a flat, so no space outside except a balcony. WE live near Princeton, NJ. It is very hot and humid in the summer and pretty dreary in the winter because there is not much snow, so everything is just grey and lifeless. But spring and autumn are glorious. People have lovely little gardens in Princeton. I love walking around town, just looking at people's yards, when first daffodils open their sunny faces and all the trees start flowering. And in the autumn the colors are beautiful. Anyway, looking at all this beauty made me long for a little garden of my own. But until we get our own house, I have to make do with the balcony and house plants.
Since I have had virtually no experience with plants, I am afraid I will not be able to contribute much in the way of advice to this forum, at least not for a while.
But I do have a lot of questions and am eager to learn from you guys.
This forum looks like a great place to be.
I look forward to getting you know better.
thank you all for reading for this lengthy intro,
t.
