Garden Gnome Lore.... - February 24th, 2006 at 11:33 AM
I got a gift from my DIL tonight...it is a miniature Garden Gnome...he is about 3 inches tall...and quite adorable. He has a little book with him and I found this extremely interesting given my LOVE for Garden Gnomes now....
Gnomes are known around the world as diminutive magical and mysterious beings.You may think that the Gnome in your yard is just hanging around, but he is up to a whole lot more when you are not looking. In addition to the popular Garden Gnome, there are 5 other types of Gnomes...(I'll list them if any one is interested)
Some general tidbits about the fabledGnomes:
* They are nocturnal
* The male Gnome is 7 times stronger than a human male and their brain capacity is much larger as well.
* A Gnomes sense of smell is 19 times as acute as a human's.
*They live well past the age of 400 but reach their peak around 200.
* Gnomes do NOT have heart attacks or go bald.
* Gnomes rub noses to greet each other.
* Babies born to Gnomes are ALWAYS twins.
The female Gnome is quite shy.
* All Gnomes love a good dance, and they will find any old excuse to do so.
* Owning a Garden Gnome is a life long commitment...
Well...I for one have now been informed. This little book has a wealth of info on the Gardnen Gnome...I HAD to stop long enough to read it!!!
I Love my little Gnome!
