There is one lonely Milkweed plant in my neighbors yard. I am going to swipe the pods (I am assuming that is where the seeds are?) I want to plant some near my coneflowers and butterfly bushes next year. How many should I plant? Is it invasive?
The more you plant. the more Monarchs you will get!
I have heard it is very invasive and does not take well to transplanting, seeds or new borns only.
Milkweed? Is that like Thistle? When camping this summer I saw how the butterflies were really attracted to it..there would be at least 4 butterflies on one bloom.
Sounds like Milkweed to me. except milkweed is not a thistle. It has those floaty, thistle-like seeds, but no pricles on the stems or leaves.
Milkweed is cool plant to grow. Want to plant Asclepias incarnata someday when I settle down in Galveston Texas.Just don't overwater. It's so drought tolerant.
