Where did my true love go?
The one I met those years ago.
The one who moved the clouds away
And made me see a Springtime day.
Where is my true love now?
The only one who could show me how
To find the beauty in something bad
And always gave me reason to be glad.
My true love was here with me one day
Then, next I knew, he'd gone away
I searched for him but could not find
The true love that I called mine.
Instead, in his place, I found a man
Who didn't feel the way my true love can.
He didn't see the beauty that he once showed me
He didn't believe how wonderful life could be…
Oh, tell me, where could my true love be?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I looked into your eyes
And couldn't seem to see
The look you used to have
Each time you looked at me
I saw the way you smiled
Even though it was still true
It wasn't the same smile
I used to get from you
I felt you when you held me
You were still gentle and oh so strong
But the lingering feeling that used to be
Just didn't last quite as long
I know that you still love me
There's not one single doubt
But do you still feel the way you used to
Because the passion seems left out.
Nice poems - very strong rhyming scheme, you're using there.
Keep writing poems.
I might add that the second one is almost a song - a few chords - maybe 5 (which is my limit when it comes to excelling in guitar), would do it.
