Worst gardening regret? - May 4th, 2005 at 01:32 PM
Do you ever regret something you did in your gardens? I was just out doing some weeding last night and thinking of when we moved into our new house surrounded by a hay field. I started a little flower bed (had no idea on what I was doing). I told Dh about the little variagated plant I'd seen one day and that I'd love to have some. He goes to town one day and comes home so proud with two of these plants and two silver mounds.
Well the two silver mounds have now been split into 20 over the years and that cute little variagated plant haunts me to this day. It was Goutweed or Bishops' weed as they call it. I am steady pulling it up by the handfuls and nothing kills it.
It's now growing from the flower bed and well into the lawn. Don't get me wrong I still like the little plant but am scared it's going to kill all the perrenials in the bed also.So every week from spring to fall I go out and pull a few handfuls of it, I should throw some on sis-in-laws lawn.
