Hello,

I have the worst neighbors ... need to try to hide the view of their yard from my pool area!

Anyone have any inexpensive trellising ideas and what the fastest growing shrubs, vines, plants would be?

Thank you so much!

You can build a treated pine trellis pretty cheap. 6" diameter posts are about 10 bucks a pop and some 5" x 1" boards screwed to them. Put the posts a maximum of 3 yards apart. Watch where you dig. Plumbing is a bugger. Use a spirit level to get it all straight. Grow some jasmine up it or if you use untreated timber, grow a passionfruit vine. You'd do it for under a hundred. 2 x Coats of paint included.

You can get some old screen doors....the kind that has like 12 or 14 small panes of glass in them. Pop out the glass (might have to break the glass to get it out) and then screw in 3 pieces of wood....like 1x1 or something....that is about 2 feet long into the bottom of the door. Give the doors a fresh coat of paint or two and then put the posts of wood into holes. Depending on what you have growing on the trellises, you might want to add some cement into the holes to keep the trellis from falling down.
