Hey all you gardening maniacs. I've been xeriscaping in the desert for over 7 yrs, now, and am ready to try shade/water gardening. Trying to come up with a plan to grow hostas. I had such beautiful ones in IA and I miss them terribly. I've recently started a fish pond and found out I can grow hostas in the pond. So.....next step is to try them in soil. That's what I'm working on now, a test container of moisture loving plants with bottom irregation. If anyone has advice, I'd love to hear it.

WElcome Toot1 thought you might like to be danced onto the forum. How are things in El Paso Del Norte? My brother used to live out on King Edward I think it is on New Mexico side not sure. I use to live in Alamogordo in another life back in the early 60's. Help rebuild the rocket sled tracks out at the sands as well as other projects. If you haven't already go to Oro Grande a little ghost gold town between ElPaso and Alamagordo my wife and I use to explore all those abandoned mines and you can find a lot of desert plants around there. Also go towards Las Cruces around old Mesilla and towards Lords Burg and get you a century plant or two as well as some cholla they have all sorts out there. I sure miss that part of the world now live in Dallas area.
