Well, the house is almost half-way painted. That means I can start to plant now-or can I? I know that the BEST time to plant is Spring or Fall, but is it OK to plant perennials, shrubs, trees in the summer?

go to www.farmersalmanac.com and it has a page that tells you when the best times are for planting things... mostly about veggies but has some info on flowers and stuff too. perennials should do okay but trees and other things need to be in the fall or spring mostly...

Alot also has to do with the type of plant...

And a good rule of thumb for planting is
in the mornings, late evenings *when it's cooler and no hot sun..*
And overcast days are the best..

Slightly rainy days are the one's I like best..
*you don't want the dirt like mud,
but moist and plyable!!!*

What plants are you speaking of???

Thanks for the replies! I want to plant at least one border of perennials with maybe a shrub or two. I have a small tree to move, but I know that has to wait until fall. If I get that far, I also want to do some vines. Thanks again!
