ok some of us use mini blind pieces as plant markers............How ya keep the ink on?
I got a marker that says""permanent marker"" well it ain't.And I forget which ones are ready to fade to re mark.I thought was the rain so covered with clear tape so still faded so guess is the sun((no..did not try sunblock on the marker after writeing))Oh I did try burrying one in soil.it faded too.guess was the "soil content"

Try a Oil~base paint marker..
It has a lead ball inside you have to shake up to use and it has to be in a well ventilated area to use..

the name on mine says UNI~PAINT???

For a tag that will last for many years, cut up an old pie dish. You know, like a TV snack etc comes in made from heavy aluminium foil. Cut it into tag sizes and shapes and use a pencil to inscribe onto it. Then fix it to the plant with a bit of wire or those twist ties etc. I've got some on trees tbat are over 10 years old and you can still read them very well. If it's for something you can't tie the tag to or you can't nail it to, glue it to a regular type plastic tag or a popsicle stick and just poke it in the ground. The stick will rot away long before the alfoil does.

Pencil works good on the blind markers.

I use a black 'ChinaMarker' on my mini-blind plant markers. It is a grease pencil, really thick, and has a string that you pull down the side so you can unwrap the paper that surrounds the crayon. That's how you "sharpen" it. Hope this helps!
