OK - here we are - this foursome shows where I've put my cyclamen in the rock garden, the north island and by the morning glories on the south island.

All are in pots - nothing is planted right into the ground.

The next twosome shows the one I've left for the table garden - will ya' look at Wild Willie's sedum, eh?

And this twosome shows

Plantings at the foot of trees - one on south lot, the other on middle lot.

There's a big dusty dry patch there, so it needs something.

Carly,

Love the pics. Your gardens are great.

Question about Cyclamen. My hubby got me one after our last was born and I have had it in the house since then, almost 10 months. It has bloomed pretty much continually.

How do they do outside? I am in zone 5.

Also what do the seeds look like. I have been trying to find them but just cannot seem to catch it right.

And finally how easy are they to separate into multiple plants as mine is getting a bit big for teh container.

Hi ya... here is some more info on cycalmens for you... cyclamen tipsheet

I have a red one outside in a container that seems to be happiest if it gets a bit of morning sun and regular water (not a bunch at a time, just the lawn sprinkler over spray). I used to have it inside but it didn't seem to happy and started to turn brown and ugly. Mine does go through a dormant period where it doesn't bloom and dies back a bit but that only lasts a month or so at a time. Our weather is pretty mild and our growing season is long so this may not apply to everyone. I love my cyclamen at Christmas when its the only thing blooming. I love the blooms, they look like little fairy dresses.

Happy gardening!

They are difficult to deal with indoors or out. Read Bill's link here.

Today, they're not looking so good - they are still in pots.

I think I might move them.
