Thank you all for the nice welcomes! I'm having fun here already and have learned a thing or two smile

Catlover, do you mean my Doberman, Caesar? He was trained for police work and I did train him myself. I've been a certified professional dog trainer for 22 years now and love it. Thank you for the compliments on my (or should I say Kipper's) website!

Sorry about that...yes, I mean't the doberman. Wow what a great job to be a trainer...you must have a lot of patience.....and what a rewarding job. Isn't it kind of sad after all that time training them and then have to send them on to someone else....that part would break my heart...I get attached to easy....thus, the reason for 5 cats.LOL The last kitten that adopted us was outside our window meowing...told my daughter "NOOOOOOooo don't open the door"...well she brought it in....my daughter gave me the puppy dog eyes and asked me to hold the kitten while she went to get some kitten food...well that is all she wrote....yep call me a sucker. If I lived in the country I would be in big trouble!!!LOL

Feel free to jump into any of the discussions or start your own!

Well, I do alot of private lessons. That's where I teach the owner how to train the dog so the dog is never in my possession. Once in awhile I'll take a dog for 3 weeks, train it, then return it to the owner with lessons on how to handle the dog. But yes, even only having the dog for 3 weeks, you do get attached. However, I always have our 3 dogs to comfort me smile Caesar was 100% my dog. I rescued him from an abusive home when he was a year old. Then after he had all his training, the previous owners told me they wanted him back! Ha! Needless to say, they didn't get him back.
