Hello everyone!
I bought a Rubber Plant a few weeks ago and after repotting, its lower leaves started to roll up to the middle. The top leaves are unbend, but the sides of the lower leaves tend to fold together. Does anyone know what the reason for this might be? I would appreciate anyone's advise.
Thanks you very much,
Galina
What kind of soil did you use?
*ie: name brand or type*
How much water have you given it?
or is it sitting in a tray of water??
How much light, or where is it sitting?
*ie: in direct sun, morning, indirect?*
Is it in front of a heater or drafty area??
And have you used any fertilizers on it, liquid or dry? If so, what kind and how???
what kind of rubber plant??
i have two...one is a regular type and the other is a 'maroon rubber plant'.
the regular one needs indirect light and the maroon one needs direct light for it to keep the maroon tinge on the leaves and stalk.
also, could you post a picture??
when you repotted it, did you spread the root ball out a bit?
sounds like it's not getting a good thorough watering...they need to dry out a bit too, before rewatering.
first of all, I'd like to thank all those who responded to my question.
Answering questions:
It is a Burgundy Rubber Plant
I used moisture control soil carefully following instructions on the plant tag. I watered it slowly to compact soil.
I'm waiting until soil becomes dry to the touch to water it again as said on the plant tag.
The plant is standing next to the wall, there is no heat coming to it
I did not use any fertilizers.
Any ideas?
It only started after I repotted it.
is the moisture control soil to retain moisture or to let it go?
sounds like the plant isn't getting enough water. how big is the new pot and how much water are you putting in each time?
they really shouldn't be allowed to dry out too much - any of the varieties.
also, does it get direct sunlight? that variety needs it to retain the lovely burgundy color.
