Now, I think I'm getting somewhere . . . this double pic just might have a lot to do with a little twig I posted a couple of days ago.

Are we on the same page? OK, if not let me explain - the double pic at the top is the same thing - the flower I'm holding in my hand there is what's on the ground.

The other - the seed (double pic) is what I think I retrieved from it.

Don't mollis and exbury deciduous azaleas have a leaf and pods like that?

I dunno'.

Not even sure where that little sprig is right now - I buried it in the scrub pot. I'm going to be covering said pot with some plastic (holes to breathe, of course) and putting it inside soon.

We'll see what pops outta' there. All kinds of things have been poked into it.

Although the bloom time seems wrong, my columbine pods look a lot like that.

OK - I give up, for now.

Let's see if it shoots up in spring and what it does.
