This wildflower (blue eyed grass?) has popped up in a couple places in my yard. I find them absolutely beautiful. Should I try to save the seeds and try to get them growing all in one spot? Would it be worth a shot?

are only about the size of a pea...

Weezie, this flower is atleast 2in in diameter. I just assumed it was blue eyed grass because it's such a common wildflower. Maybe I'm wrong? Maybe now it's a mystery.

It looks like some kind of spring flowering bulb, in the crocus family I think. Weezie's right on about the blue-eyed grass and that's not it. I'd like to see the plant growing, Christina. The stalk and leaves and how it grows. Thanks a bunch, it is a mystery plant!

This one is in the middle of my vegetable garden and I'd like to move it to my front yard. Would I harm it by moving now that it's flowering or should I just leave it be?

cool looking flower. I think you wait until after it has bloomed and then you move it being careful to keep the leaves intact. At least that's what I've heard about plants that have bulbs.

It's Crocus speciosus. I would move it after blooming making sure to keep the foliage. The blue eyed grass that grows here has ½ inch flowers and blooms late May to July.

i agree with it being a crocus variety

Definately a crocus with the white vein in the middle.
