Not sure what the second one is,
but GREAT color PURPLE!!!!!!!!!!! thumbup thumbup thumbup
Posted By: lizheaemma Re: crassula-unknown variety - January 27th, 2004 at 06:18 AM
I think that the second one is a pipe organ cactus (lemaireocereus marginatus) and the first one definitly a crassula, I might even argentea (jade) that was in some starge growing condition, that might have caused it to try and grow sideways for more light? How long have you had it do you now it's history?

try here for some info

or maybe...

Crassula arborescens
Posted By: Jillie Re: crassula-unknown variety - January 27th, 2004 at 03:52 PM
Liz asked, "How long have you had it do you now it's history?"

We just bought it on Sunday. It's in a 3-inch pot. Definitely a crassula......
Check up there ^ Can you see "em now???
Posted By: Jillie Re: crassula-unknown variety - January 27th, 2004 at 05:53 PM
Liz, it's not quite the same as the arborescens. I have one of those...& this one's different... Duh

I think you may be right on with the pipe organ cactus thumbup
Posted By: catlover Re: crassula-unknown variety - January 27th, 2004 at 06:21 PM
Geeze Louise Jillie I just got progressive bifocals :p and I still can't hardly see the pix...."do I need trifocals?" Duh laugh

What happened to putting it in your album thingie!!! Now I could SEE those!!!

grinnnn Wink, Wink!!! laugh

When I finally get my camera it will take me years to learn....You should of seen how long it took this computer nit wit to get the animations. Everybody in the hostess lounge had a good laugh over that one. I am totally electronically challenged!!!

Hey Catlover,

They are in the Album thingie laugh

Look in -What is this plant?

There are also 3 new pics of one of our euphorbias blooming. This was another garden rescue, the gardener was using it as a stepping stone until he uprooted it completely. I love the little flowers, they have a perfect star in the center of the bloom.

If anyone knows that exact name if this one, I would appreciate.

Hi Jilly,
The first one is a jade plant.

Catlover, sorry...When I posted larger pics, they didn't show...too many pixels, me tinks..
idea

Newt, Thanks...Jade...? The only thing, though, is that instead of woody stems, they're fleshy. And, the edges of the sort-of spatulate leaves are purple, instead of pink. We have about five different kinds of jade, here, & this is a real oddity....
Hmmmmm...jade? Maybe a hybrid?
Posted By: weezie13 Re: crassula-unknown variety - January 28th, 2004 at 04:23 PM
Jillie,
Didn't Nikkal call them some kind of crassulia??
Or something like that, that's a cousin of
the jade/???

Oh, Nikkkkkkkallllllllllllllll??

(I could of sworn she had posted on something like this before, can't remember where??)

Papito, I think you're close to the cigar, here. thumbup The leaves on ours are a bit more fleshy at the tip...and the spacing of the leaves along the stem is a bit different...

What do you think of this one?

Hi, Liz wavey
That shot is of one of the "flapjack" ones. I have three of those guys and the newbie isn't the same. Check out the two new photos in our webshots. I have the new guy repotted in a pink planter and I put it behind an arborescens for comparison in the first shot. In the second pic we have newbie grouped with some other jades. It's definitely in the family....but the leaves don't grow opposite one another....Maybe it did get stunted and deformed during its babyhood.....

Click.. What is this plant?

Wow Jillie! I don't have an answer for you, but I just LOVE all your succulents! I especially like the hummer whirly - they are my favorites and I collect garden hummer thingies. thumbup

Awe, thanks, Lynne kissies
Just sitting outside and looking at all the forms and colors is so calming and zen-ish....I just love these plants, too! The sillies and whirrlies just add to the fun. I think we have about four of the hummer thingies. Every day, something new is going on out there...even in winter. cool

I found it!!!! thumbup

It's a Senecio jacobsenii variegata or "Variegated Hanging Jade." We found one at Lowe's yesterday. Success! Thanks, everyone for the input..
