This is growing in my aunt's yard, also. She said she thinks it is a weed, but it is a really pretty one. She has it growing up a pole in the back yard and across the garden arch we bought her as a gift for planning our wedding.

The first is the flower. The second picture is the fern's vine. Sorry that it is so blurry, but the breeze was blowing a little bit and it was hard to keep it in focus.

It is a beautiful little weed vine and I am planning on digging some up to bring home. I think it would be gorgeous growing on the gazebo.

I had a couple of cypress vines come back from seed last years vines dropped. I didn't even have to transplant them, they're growing up the same same wire support as last year next to one of the posts on my front porch. They got kind of a late start germinating on their own though. I'd say wait till the seed pods turn brown but before they open and drop their seeds. That way you could plant them in pots and get an earlier start.

Thank you, Terry! One more question, please...

Will the seeds be in the center of the flower, like four o'clock seeds?

Yes, the flower will fall off and then you'll be left with the seed pod.

Dianna - I sent you an PM last night - check it out - I mentioned that I have cardinal flower vine seeds - these flowers are almost identical to the ones here - only difference is the leaves - they are not as ferny looking.
