Hey welcome. I see you are in zone 6. Same as me. It's too early for pond plants. But I have started one from seed. Keeping it inside for probly another month. It is a floating type. Plus wal-mart has some in packages ready to start. They had some lillies and cattails and some others too.

Almost any type of Japanese Iris will do well if the rizhomes are kept at or just below the surface. I have also found that Creeping Jenny does well with the roots just below surface and the leaves and stems are trailed up the rock of a waterfall or something similar. Also, many types of pothos do well. Actually I had some strawberry plants growing out of one of the pots that also had Papyrus growing in it! I would imagine that Mother-in-Laws Toungue would do well also. I think I am going to try that this spring!
