Just when I think I'm starting to get this under control here (ie., I'm walking around my yard with a swollen head becuase I know what stuff is LOL!)

Mysteries for your consideration:

Yellow stuff creeping up the bottom of a tree:
mystery #1

Oriental lilies?
mystery #2

Took some closeups...not sure what these little black pods are at the base of the leaves...bugs? seeds?
mystery #2 closeup #1
mystery #2 closeup #2

Here's something I asked about before, and was supposed to get a clearer pictures of..not sure its any clearer!
mystery #3 pic 1
mystery #3 pic 2

Are these shasta daisies?

mystery #4 pic 1

mystery #4 pic 2

Oh, one last one...this IS sedum, right?

Cool! I guess that sedum on the tree is the 'creeping' variety. May be I'll move some to my mini rock garden. Any way of getting free flowers right now really helps smile

Yaknow, I might have missed it. It's over in an area I'm not in much, so it very well may have flowered already and I missed it confused I'll keep checking on it. I'm proud of myself - actually figured out it might be a geranium of sorts because of the leaves! thumbup

Oh, and one more thing... <img border="0" alt="[tongue]" title="" src="graemlins/tongue.gif" /> I think I should have called that lily an asiatic, not an oriental. I keep getting that confused.

Thanks, Rue!

That's easy . . .

# 1 is a hooma . . .

# 2 is a jiggie . . .

Water 'em often.

OK - I'm up too early, I guess. At large with my corny jokes.

LOL @ Carly!

I think #4 is daisy fleabane, which upon googling it, I see the technical name for it, is what rue said..lol. Here's a link to info on it-

The black pods on the stalk of the lilies in #2 are called bulbils. They are smaller versions of bulblets. They form in the leaf axils of tiger lilies. They ripen in late summer or early fall. These can be harvested as soon as they can be EASILY separated from the parent. After removing them plant and nurture them as you would bulblets. But be careful not to let them dry out.

Thanks Meg - I can't believe they can get up to 60" tall! I gotta see that!

Tricia, thanks for hunting this thread down! wink I'm really excited that they're bulbils...does that mean these are tiger lilies? They haven't bloomed yet...still not sure what kinda lilies they are, but I do know they're very tall! I can't wait to make more LOL!
