Hi all-
There is a plant near the corner of my deck that comes back every year. The greenery usually gets about 3-4 feet high and spreads to a diameter of about the same. (Big enough that a peony frame can't hold it all)
This plant has the most amazing fuschia colored bloom on it.
When the bloom is finished, there is a seed that is black and VERY close to a peppercorn in shape and size.
I tried to save some of the seeds last year, but have misplaced them, and if the sale of the house goes through, I won't have time to get anymore. (Because it blooms and seeds late summer)
Does anyone know what this plant is?

(Also, it has sprouted new plants where-ever the seeds fall)

I think you have a 4 o clock plant.
Maybe if you change your topic and post to looking for 4:00 seeds, someone might be able to get you some. I know a lot of people grow this

If some of your little volunteers have sprouted or do so before you move, I don't see why you couldn't pot some up to take with you. Four o'clocks are easy and should transplant with no problems.

Kennyso, is that your Four O'Clock plant? I love the fuchia color I love pink flowers.

I have a few different 4 pms.Kennys looks like my white with pink speckles does& it does have some solid fushia flowers.But most are the white with speckles...sometimes a star shape in center too which is neat.

4 pms will form a tuber.some can be quiet large(I've dug one size of a football)Good luck with your house selling.

Patti, that isn't my plant! I wanted to post a pic to see if that was what it was, didn't hotlink it so saved the picture in my PB. I've never had luck growing these, can't even get the seeds to germinate. haven't had any luck with tubers either!

Okay, Kenny! I'm going to check it out to see if I can find it. I don't really do a lot with seeds but maybe I can find the plant. If not, maybe I can locate some seeds. I am trying some seeds this year to see if I have any luck with them now that I have lights to help them along.

I also think it is a 4:00 plant. I have seeds for white and a hot pink that I will give you if you send a SASE. A 4:00 plant is one of the last plants to come up in the spring. You may want to dig it up and take one of the tubers with you. Just poke around with a shovel and you will probably find them easily. They grow to about the size of small sweet potatoes. If the house does not sell, plant it in a pot then take it with you.
