Bought this from Wal-Mart a couple of weeks ago and all the tag said was ornamental grass. I don't know if it is an annual or perrenial. Can someone identify this one for me, please?

I bought six of them, but haven't figured out where I want to plant them...

I don't know, G-mom. If I knew it were that, though, I wouldn't have bought it!

It's "hair" wasn't standing up when I bought it. It was just laying over the side of the pot. The girl at the register told me she and her sister used to "braid" their mother's ornamental grass all the time...

Looks like Ponytail grass, or Nassella (Stipa)tenuissima.

All ornamental grasses are perrenial. It's kinda hard to tell, but it looks like it may be a miscanthus. Possibly 'gracillimus'. Can you snap some close-ups?

Nassella tenuissima, aka, Ponytail grass, Mexican feather grass

Although all ornamental grasses are perennial, they may not be perennial in your zone. Nassella is hardy to zone 7, probably 6 with protection and good drainage.

Thank you, Alan! I believe it is the ponytail grass. The pics I have googled look just like it. I am in zone 7! clp

John, I have the miscanthus "zebrina", too...

Thanks for all the help...
