Hi all

Just wondering ... I bought some yellow squash today from the fruit & veggie market. Is it possible to start a squash plant with one of them, and how would I do it?
Can I do it in a big pot?

You mean from the seed? Yes, you could do that. Just take the seed out and dry it.

However, depending on many things, you may not get similar fruit to the ones you purchased. If the parent plant was hybridized, or the flower cross-pollinated, they will most likely have different characteristics. MOST store-bought fruit and vegetables these days are hybrids and developed with storage and transport in mind.......not taste.

Why not just buy a packet of seed and start some plants that way? You can start the seed in any size pot and just pot-it-up as it outgrows it. I think it's pretty late in the season down there to be starting plants from seed though.
