These are from seeds I collected two years ago. I was thinking cranesbill but the foliage looks more like carnation. They easily reseed and spread like wildfire. The color is more vivid than showing in the photo. Any ideas?

Cindy, these are the seeds I sent you labelled "magenta flowers".

If the flowers were blue, I'd say it was chicory. I don't know if any chicory grows with pink flowers though.

No, not chicory. Chicory has more petals and the foliage is completely different. This foliage is more like mini-carnations.

Cricket,
You've got what they call Pinks,
or dianthus....

Weezie, thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think they are dianthus, which I have growing elsewhere.

Weezie, they do look like the first picture you linked to but have no scent.

These are the dianthus I have growing in another container...

and these are my mystery flowers, which are about 1/4 the size and have differet foliage...

So what do you think? Are they dianthus?

I'm stickin' with the
Dianthus deltoides /Maiden Pinks.

I know sometimes in certain
family's, ther'es tons' of different
varieties...
But I'd still go with the "Pink's" catagory.. Maiden Pink/Dianthus deltoides

When you use the term Dianthus,
You cover a large variety of kinds of flowers.

Dianthus
