Four years ago I decided to move my rosemary to a better location. This is the result of the move...it has grown massive! And this is the first year it has actually bloomed. Looks like it's very happy in it's new home.

There is one good thing about rosemary (apart from its excellence in the kitchen). I've had one for years and when it gets too big even a rank amateur like me can take a cutting and the following year simply replace it with the new plant.

... wowie!!!... that really is gorgeous.... where did you move it to sun-wise? I ask cuz this year I am going to have to move mine too... and right now it's planted where it gets afternoon shade.... and, where I'm thinking of moving it... even closer to me kitchen, lol, and of course of course... is like full sun.

I moved it to a place in my back yard that's on a slight slope (giving it good drainage) and lots of sun. I think, like most herbs, it likes a lot of sun.

... thanks mucho for your reply... and I guess I've been just a bit chicken when it comes to moving it cuz I've always sorta heard that they can be a bit finicky, and/or even on the 'iffy' side of just up and dying on ya... but... and on the other hand, where I have it now would only be gooder for like another year or so, and cuz there's some more shade that'll be comin' up on it before too very long... and and and, lol, methink/feels that just won't do at all.... and so thanks too, and cuz I've a spot, in full sun, that it just may really like as well... and it's also on a bit of a slope and has gooder drainage to boot... so thanks.

wow that is beautiful!!!!!!!! What kind of soil do you have there? I would love to have mine grow to look like that. In the Florida sun they should be happy but should I ammend the sandy soil with anything else? kmSedna1333

Now THAT'S a rosemary plant!!

Very nice!

The soil in that spot is very quick to drain so it doesn't get too much water. Sandy soil often drains too well, so I would add some compost to help it hold nutrients and water while still draining well.
