I bought this plant a little over three years ago and the identifier in it said it was a rope hoya. I've never been able to find ANY information on a rope hoya. Therefore, I simply call it my tortellini plant because the "leaves" look like little tortellinies. It is a slow grower and really likes going outside in the summer. Anyone know what it really is?

The scientific name is "Hoya carnosa compacta" Sometimes called Hindu rope as well.I have the same basket you do and a couple of small all green ones in small pots and a small variegated one.

I have one of these, too - it flowered not long ago and its identity as a hoya was definitely confirmed. I had hoped that the flowers would smell as nice as some hoyas do, but alas! While the flowers were handsome, the scent was unpleasantly "fermented."

P.S. You live in Bend, OR...if you ever run into my brother Eric Jaderborg (pilot) or his wife Jana (surgeon), greet them from the sister in Copenhagen, Denmark!
