i was just thinking about planting the pink p-grass when they come in this spring, and rememberd the big huge hole in the ground! its realy big! like the size of my hand big! and little bees swarmin all around it, since its winter now, i should do somthing about it wile they cant do anything about me doing somthing,
cause i dont know these bees, i dont know what to do, i hate to kill em cause bees are flowers friendly. just not shure if these little guys are people friendly,

call your local county ext office. Sometimes they'll come and move the bees. Are there any bee keepers in your area? The last I heard the killer bees have not made it that far north.

Most of the bees which nest in the ground in your area are yellow jackets or hornets, both are considered pests, and meaner then Hades when they are bothered. Unless you happen to have a very desirable spot, they do not come back to the same location each year. If they do I would suggest hitting the nest up at night time (mark the spot during the day so you can find it) with product made especially for killing bees such as Shoo Fly or Black Flag hornet and wasp killer. These products usually drop the critters in their tracks, and reduce the chance of the applicator getting stung.

hope they dont come back next year, i didnt know yellow jackets or hornets could make holes that big, i always thought their holes were the size of a pencil. i;ll get some spray, just in case for next year, thanks mike!

belinda we dont have any bee keepers around here that i know of, except my bumble bees, that i love, we get hundreds of em! i think they have a nest somewere up in the garage, their harmless and have been people frindly, ive stood in swarms of em collecting seeds they never stung me, sometimes their land on, or in my hair but thats all.

Normally they won't make a hole that large, but that does not mean that they would not utilize something that they found which was already there.
Bumbles are pretty mellow bees, They actually let you pet them if you move slowly enough, my kids think I am nuts when I do this perpl
