I've had this plant growing very happily by my SW sliding doors for about 4 years now. Every now and then it puts out a few really pretty purple flowers on the tips. I just love this plant and have taken many cuttings and shared them with friends. The best thing about it, is that the lady in the nursery told me I would NOT be able to grow it unless I had full day full sun on it!!! Boy was that ever a challenge to me - snatched it right up, and it's like the energizer bunny! cool

Sorry that the pictures are fuzzy -
so are the leaves on this plant!!! laugh shocked Duh

who am I?
who am I #2?

It's not your typical wandering jew... the leaves and stems are very fuzzy. Someone once told me the name and I have forgotten it, but it wasn't that.

Thanks for the suggestion though... thumbup

I'll give you the family it's in,
Tradescantia.......................
(And Wandering Jew is in that family)

I know Nikkal got it the last time....
Someone did send in a picture of something
like this one, can't remember if she gave the
full name to it!!!

hey lynne, weezie is right, it is in the wandering jew family, but not wandering jew. the name of it excapes me right now, but i have a variety of it and you are right, the flowers are beautiful! the flowers on mine (which is a fuzz-less variety) only last a day, but they just keep coming and coming, all summer. i think mine is called either purple heart, or moses-in-basket. but as to the proper name, Duh sorry.

I think that it's a relitive of the tradescantia family...cyanitis kewensis (teddy bear vine)!

Hi guys~

The only picture I can find online of cyanitis kewensis shows brown hairs on the plants, while mine is hairy white. Oh, well...

I'll see if Nikkal will
come through, I know she had an
answer for the last one,
Not sure if it was that variety...
I used to have that one too,
when I did houseplants..
but never knew it's "offical name"
