Is this a weed? I know the green stuff around it is weeds, LOL...What is the purple thing?

I wish I could help but I've never seen a plant like that...sure is pretty though. I think I would pot it up and keep it isolated until I knew what it was. You may have a bird deposited jewel there. laugh

The only thing I could think of is
Beet tops...
but unless you planted them, I don't think
it would be those...
and if it's a weed, it looks like a
stressed Plantain but I don't think the leaves quite match up...

Well, I wonder what the heck it is. Is it really a weed? it sure is a pretty weed. LOL
About 2yrs ago, I had a Canturbury Bell planted in that exact spot. I thought it had died, because it never came up the following year. Think this could be related to that? The CB's didn't have purple leaves, though.
Weird.
The only thing that made me think it might not be a weed was because of it's growth rate.

Canturbury bells dont come back as purple..ha hah

Purple Perilla that looks similiar.. It is a perennial and that is all i know .
