Hi all! I was wondering if anybody could ID this one for me-I lost the tag-I got it just before Christmas-it had a few decorations on it-I've been decorating it ever since-first Valentines, now St. Patrick's, and next week Easter-I've had it in a not-very-well-lit corner of my dining room, and it's done pretty well-put on a lot of new growth-but I've noticed some of the lower brances not looking so good, so I guess it's time to figure out what it is and what it likes. Thanks for the help!

Well at the moment all I can say is that it is not a Pine. If you take a close-up pic of the leaves and how they are attached to the branch I believe it should be fairly straightfoward to ID your plant. Please show the upper and lower surface of the leaves. Good luck and happy gardening!

Now, correct me if I am wrong, but in your second post, is the first pic a completely different tree than the second? Otherwise, I need to get a new pair of glasses!

Okay, I need new glasses! LOL, I didn't realize it was a great close-up. You must have an excellent camera, rozy(especially from your Flower show pics), as my little digital captures nothing like that!

Thanks for the ID Amy! Now I can take good care of my little guy-I love it-I decorate it with foam cutouts for all the holidays.
I actually use my video camara with "zoom" to take these pics-they seem to come out pretty nice on the pc, but not all that great on paper.

I can up with a california red fir. Guess it depends on the color of the bark? The fact sheet I looked at said it would be ashy white on a young tree and reddish brown on an older one. These trees get upto 200 feet tall.
