Here is another flower I am trying to figure out. I don't have the best pics, but here are a couple. There appear to be red, pink and white flowers that are growing between the leaf stems up along the entire stalk of the plant and the green leaves are long and pointed.
Thanks
Triss
I would say balsam (touch me nots).
Yep, that's it...
Thanks Donna, it was drivin' me CRAZY!!!
I better go look for them..
Now I am confused. Dan got me a potted flower for Mother's Day that is an Impatiens. According to several websites, these are the same flower, but my plants look VERY different.
Still looking to see if I can find one that looks like what is growing in the garden.
On the other hand, the flowers look remarkably the same. The flowers all have a spike that comes off the back end.

This is what my potted plant looks like
see how different from the garden ones

I found the answer after much looking. The potted plant is Impatiens Wallerina and the ones in the garden are Impatiens Balsamina.
Thanks so much for leading me in the right direction.

Ha! When I saw the picture, I thought they were Hollyhocks. But I didn't know how big they were, of course.
Once again, I came too late to id this plant. Just yesterday I was reading one of my magazines that has info on this plant. It sounds awesome! I love it's name...Touch Me Not. It gets the name because the seed pods will burst at even a slight wind and willsend seeds flying up to 15 feet!!! I want to get some of this plant for an area of my garden that I'm redoing next year. I just love it!
You will have to remind me that you want seeds and I will send them to you once I start harvesting them. I am going to have a ton based on the amount that came up for me this year.
Yep, but I may forget so keep bugging me
Yes - I remember having them last year - they pop if you touch 'em.
