this one wouldn't be a mystery except the flash made the sign unreadable, and it will be a while before i get back down there!

but mayyyyyyyybe some kind of Hibiscus...or some

I have the same feeling, Weezie, I don't know for sure Duh
but based on the flower structure, I'd say it's in the Mallow/Hibiscus family.

i bet it is a mallow rather than a "hibiscus". just because the structure wasn't right for hibiscus.

i will probably get to stop by there tomorrow, crossing my fingers. thanks for the help!

any how your flower looks like a white rock rose, but so far ive only seen em with yellow centers,

I have seen the ones with yellow centers
Anagallis linifolia 'Grandiflora'

this is in different colours as well, blue orange,purple. Duh

It looks like the sign says "spearleaf" in the lower left corner. BUT when I put it into a search engine, nothing came up.

There IS a spearleaf swamp mallow that is invasive down south, but all I found was a map with no plant pics
