A couple days ago while I was digging up the ten tons of lemon mint or balm, I came across a ton of bulbs in the dirt. I had to dig them all up to get to all the lemon roots.
Now I am wondering what they are & what to do with them. Can bulbs be identified if I post a pic?

Those look like Daffodil bulbs.

I don't think I have ever seen daffodils growing in that area.
So... What should I do with them?
I have never planted bulbs before.
I'm still a NewB ya know.

Or a color flower or shape??

Roots go down, and pointy end goes up..

FYI for the future of other bulbs and you can't tell which end has the roots, plant it on it's side.. they'll always go up...

Maybe garlic bulbs?

I have seen Lovage(sp?)& Lemon Balm. Something that looks like ornamental grass, but always looks wilting and this plant below in that area.

The pictures are lemon balm,
but those bulbs definately are not those..
*they're like on a runner root type*
And produces a seed to reproduce...

So that big bush is lemon balm?
I guess I didnt realize that, because I kept cutting the other stuff down or dug it up, so I never seen it with flowers.
Plus the pic shown is growing in front of my garden & it is ok there. The other lemon balm was growing in an area where there was other plants trying to grow, so I dug it all up.

This is my 3rd summer in this house.
The first summer I didn't do anything with the yard, because we were too busy doing stuff inside and building a bedroom.
Last summer I concentrated on a garden and we made a flower bed in the front yard.

Oops I wasn't finished.
So now this year I am trying to clean up a pretty neglected area.
Anyways... About the bulbs.
I would guess that they would be a vegetable or herb & not daffodil, since it it next to the garden and every other plant in the area is an herb or veg. Just a guess?
There also is a bush with litle purple flowers too. plant-purple flowers

I am still trying to figures out what these bulbs are that I dug up.
Has anyone heard of snowflakes?
The snowflake bulbs in the picture below look like the ones that I dug up.

My Suprise lilies, aka naked ladies, Lycoris squamigera look like that also. You get leaves in the Spring and then the flower comes up late August.

If you have been there for three yrs I think you would have seen Dafs coming up in the Spring. Which makes me think that they are suprise lilies. If they were planted before you moved in they might not bloom for up to 3 years after planting.

I think you got it right.
About a week ago I noticed awesome pink lilies coming up near the area where I accidentally dug up these bulbs. I didn't know what they were, so I did some investigating and learned that they are surprise lilies. The whole area has been taken over with lemon balm, so I was digging that junk up. I never noticed the lilies before so what you said makes sense. They are so pretty. I wish more would come up.
So now I have a bucket full of bulbs. Are they ok to plant or are they ruined because I dug them up?
I did plant some in a big planter, just to see what would come up.
Any advice?

It looks like the purple flowering plant is catnip/catmint. It could also be oregano or some other kind of mint, something along those lines anyway.

Go ahead and plant the bulbs where you want them.
