Does anyone know the name of these low growing pink flowers in my flower bed? I'm pretty sure my mom told me that they're a perennial, but that's all I know! Also, I have 3 Hostas like the Hosta pictured, and I was wondering if anyone knows the name or what the blooms will look like on them? They still haven't bloomed. Thanks a lot!

I wish I could see a closer pic of the flowers. They look a lot like my Vinca.

They really look like impatiens, and they are an annual. The hosta looks to me like it has three flower buds coming up . The flowers will be on a tall stalk and look like purplish/blue bells or white.

I agree with everyone else, they look like impatients.

Thanks everyone! Here are closer up pics of the flowers. I'm sure that you're right about them being impatiens. The funny thing is, I could've sworn that all of those used to be the white-pink color, with brighter pink in the center, like my first picture. Well then the middle 2 turned this dark pink color. Do you think it has anything to do with the fact that I planted one of the purple flowers right inbetween them? (The ones that are lining the bed). Could they have crossbred or something? (Just tell me if I'm WAY off.. I'm learning lol)

Oh I also wanted to say that the reason my mom thought they were perennial was because they came up again for her this year! I looked into it, and sure enough they can come up the next year depending. I saw some other posts on other boards where people were shocked by it, too. I can't believe that this annual made it through a Michigan winter! That's pretty impressive! I'm not going to count on it happening again though.

Impatients will reseed themselves if you keep them happy all season and they get seed pods on them. They are really cool to pop open. My kids are always stalking my plants to look for them. They start showing up mid August. So, you aren't seeing the same plants every year, you are seeing the seeds the plants dropped.
Where in MI are you? I am on the SW side.

Thanks for letting me know, Jody! I'm from Southeast Mi! I'm about 25-30 miles southwest of Detroit.
