I thought a lavender of some kind - I dunno'.
I took this as a clipping from a cascading pot outside a Swiss Chalet at the end of summer - it's done so well.
And this - it's grown from a pinch of something . . .
Hi Carly.
Does the first one have a smell?
The second looks like Swedish Ivy.
The second one looks like Swedish Ivy to me too.
No, I didn't smell anything.
OK - some kind of ivy, eh? We'll see what this sprig of stuff does then.
The top one looks like Plectranthus amboinicus.
I smelled it today - there's no smell.
http://www.mountainvalleygrowers.com/pleamboinicus.htm It looks 'something like' that, but not quite the same.
When I took the clipping from the big plant at Swiss Chalet, it had white flowers on it. We'll have to see what it looks like when it blooms.
The one in your link is the variegated type. There is a non-variegated one.

Ahhhhhhhh! So the common name is spanish thyme, then.
Well, thank you - I'm farther along than I was with that one.
The second one looks like what we out here call "Creeping Charlie".
Are the leaves like those of a succulent? If so, it's a Charlie.
Also called Swedish Ivy.
They can get huge-ceiling to floor huge !
Creeping Charlie - well I know some people call the grass weed that - this isn't anything like Creeping Charlie.
carly, it is swedish ivy. and it does bloom white flowers, and in california, it is called creeping charlie, but it isn't the creeping charlie that is the weed that grows in the gr***.
it grows very well in california for some reason
Ahhhhh! OK, then - we'll see how far it goes.
As for the other one - Spanish Thyme or whatever, it seems, according to the Dave's Garden entry, it will be getting its blooms soon. I'll look forward to that.
