COMPOST!!
Is natural, won't burn the plant/roots..
Will give it a ready supply of food, and organic and naturally already used by plants before fert's were invented..

I love organics...
and really try to stay away from liquid or
granular fertilizers..
They can burn the plant or root system,
and can do harm worms and good bugs in the soil..
*or make the worms not want to be there..*

(I do use liquid fertilizers only when I am transplanting a plant for shock and to feed the plant for a bit *a day or two* until the plant can re~establish it's own root system.. and I give it a foliar feed *wetting down the leaves in early morning or dinner late afternoon/dinner time **you don't want the soil or plant to be wet and soggy for it's bed time/night hours** so the plant can feed it's self again until the roots are established...)
