I was given some prickly seed pods last fall off of an outdoor plant. This was quite a large plant growing in a raised bed and it was trailing also and then had the prickly balls allover it.I do not know if it does flower in the summer at all but I live in Northwestern Ontario and that's where it was growing.I assumed that if I dried out the seed pods (which I have done) that I can now plant the seeds inside. And then put the plant outside after the frost is gone.It is suppose to be a perenial.Does anyone know what it is-does it flower?I want to put it in my rock garden.
Do you have a photo of the seed pod? When you say it was a large plant, about how tall and wide?
Wild guess---Datura, or Angel's Trumpet?
Datura seedpod Datura flower
It was about 4 ft.across and 2 ft. in height and growing in a raised bed.I know it's not Angel's Trumpet because I have had one of those before. The seed pods do look like the datura seed pods.Does it flower?
I looked at the datura flower pic and the foliage just wasn't like that-it was much more stringy and sprawling. Also more of a green on the yellow side.
theres all diffrent kinda datura flowers see if any of these match

I think what you have is a datura but my grandma always called them moon flowers bacause they bloom big white blooms at night. as kids we would shine lights on her's to get them to close up
Some wild daisies tend to have prickly pods too.
Some of 'em have burrs.
