Hey everybody.

I'm new here. Just registered tonight, and was really happy to find this forum. I'm not sure if this is the right category of topics to ask this question in, but I'm gonna ask it anyway, and trust that those of you more familiar with this forum will correct or guide me.

I've recently moved back to Central North Florida after 20 or so years of living from South Florida to Kentucky. growing up, we used to plant what we called "Cabbage Peas". All I remember is that it's a small green pea, and it taste soooo good!

We are getting ready to plant a garden, and I cannot find them anywhere. Are any of you familiar with this type of pea? It may be, and probably is, called by another name. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Linny

Hey Mark. Thanks for answering. I've never heard of asparagus peas. Do you have a picture? Could we be talking about the same pea and just calling it something different?

Linny,
I wonder if you're talking about "Lady Peas?" They are a small greenish pea with a wonderful flavor! If that's what you're looking for, a friend of mine who grows them here gets her seed from somewhere in NC. I just get my peas from her since she has a truck farm with LOTS more room to grow stuff like that smile

Mark thanks for the link. I'm going to plant some of those. They might be what I'm remembering. Even if they're not, I think they will be very good.

Nature Lover - I remember eating cream peas too. I had forgotten all about them. Your right, they taste great. I am going to plant some of those as well. Thanks for your help guys.
