I had bought these a few weeks ago, and never got around to potting them up until yesterday. I had Don drill 3 drainage holes in the large mixing bowl they are in. I'm so addicted to these plants! ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v161/LynneNY/houseplants2/succulents12-15-06.jpg)

Love it Lynne!! I went from one aloe plant to 5 aloes, and now also have 8 other pots of either cacti or succulents! I love my addiction! and as long as I am careful when I repot them- this addiction won't hurt anyone!

They look great Lynne!!!! I also am addicted, without going all over the house to make a count, I know I have at least 30+ indoors, that doesn't count the cold hardy ones outdoors.

I was in the area yesterday and just had to go back to the nursery that carries these wonderful small succulents! Even though they had "technically" closed 5 minutes before I got there, they welcomed me in and told me to take my time! Such nice people! They had already turned off the lights, and must have turned down the heaters, because on the very cold day yesterday, it was freezing in the greenhouse! I quickly made my selections, and ended up paying only $4 for the 3, instead of the $5 they had charged me on previous visits! Again, such nice people! Here are the 3 in their 3 inch pots: ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v161/LynneNY/houseplants2/succulents2-06-07.jpg) And here is one - is this a flower coming out on the skinny stem? I've never seen this before - all the similar ones I have, have babies coming out of the soil. ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v161/LynneNY/houseplants2/succulentandbaby2-06-07.jpg)

That's very interesting about the gasteria's baby. I only grew one gasteria once and it clumped slowly from underground. I lost it when my son opened his window last winter - it was on his windowsill. Aparently they are very frost tender. The faucaria looks wonderful! I watered mine to death many tears ago. It will have such beautiful yellow flowers. Grow them in good health!

Thanks all! Margaret - thanks for reminding me of their names - you are so good at that! I'm still leaning towards thinking that stem is a flower stalk, even though it's the wrong time of year. Time will tell...

Thanks, Diane! Some better pictures, taken yesterday. It is definitely looking more like a baby, than a flower stalk. Is this really weird, or what? ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v161/LynneNY/houseplants2/gasteria22-09-07.jpg)
