My girlfriend just discovered some strange alien like plant in her garden. It is a snake egg like bulb ith a very small root section at the base of the "egg". The "egg" is white with a greyish spotting look to it which is very subtle. Upon popping the "egg", a mucusy sack emerges with a fleshy pink inside, almost membrane looking. Now if given the chance to sprout itself, the "egg" with split and the pink fleshy membrane grows out like a tentical or even a limp toungue looking thing. it does not stand upright but rather falls over and lays limp on the side of the "egg" but still conected to its sack in the "egg". The tentical type thing is pink in color up to the top 1/4 of it which is a deeper maroon red. It also looks as if it has tastebuds all over it. It does not grow any further than maybe 3 - 4 inches long and then shrivels. An important note: this "egg" cluster attracts flies and smells like something died. HELP Identify this alien life form!

I am going to try, because no one seems to be able to identify it. I have talk to our county's horticulture department and they are stumped too. They would like a sample so the can examine and test it. I ill try to post a pic then:)

No, this is definately plant life as it has rooted itself in the mulch bed. And it has a root system(although small)at the base of the bulb or "egg".

If this is in fact a true "alien" I can probably identify for you if you post a picture.
We have many different forms and species in my universe.

A suicide bomber?

OK, ok . . . that ain't funny.

That clever description is enough to make way for a short story, eh?

Let's see . . .

When I came out the garden on Monday morning, I expected no surprises. I looked under my tomato plants and was surprised to see a half dozen little creatures wiggling across the plot. By the end of the day, the whole city was up in arms.

We've been invaded, they screamed and the headlines read . . .

Housewife sets fire to Toronto, Canada!

Hey thanks Guys! I believe the mystery has been solved. Although a little part of me was hoping for some discovery of new species and lots of headlines, maybe a little glory that my girlfriend and I could bask in...
...well after they lifted the quarantine from her house:)
