OP slojo Junior Member S Joined: May 2003 Texas	This is the second year for one plant. Two others are new. The Monarch Butterfy catepillers are eating everything in site. I have had hundreds of catepillars, I think. All three plants were stripped in 48 hrs. Will they come back or do I just need to dig them up and discard them. I have never seen so many catepillars, chrysilis' and beautiful Monarch Butterflies in my life. I bought the 2 new plants because they were out of leaves on the old one....

floweraddict Member F Joined: Jan 2003 in my garden	Butterfly weed has a deep tap root and is very drought tolerant once established. I would say that your plants will come back even though the vegetaion has been stripped. Sounds like the monarch butterflies like your garden spot! That's good. OP slojo Junior Member S Joined: May 2003 Texas	Thanks so much for the answer. I have been wondering what to do. 2 of them are still in the 5 gal pot I bought thm in, but one is 2 years old at least. Guess I'll try and get the 2 new ones to live too.
