I got a quick, correct response last time (thanks zuzu's), so here are a few more I'd like to identify.

#1 (the long, thin, thorny leaves and the colorful stalk growing from the middle, shown at top-left)


#2 (I see this used for hedges in the neighborhood)


#3 (flower is more reddish than the picture shows)

#6 (this one was pruned all the way down to the ground and is starting to regrow, not sure if there are any flowers or other identifying characteristics that haven't redeveloped yet)

I can tell you that the first plant is a Bromeliad.

The second plant is an Ixora.

#s 3 and 5 are both tropical Hibiscus.

The other 2 . . . I can't tell you right off hand,
Someone else may recognize them.

#6 looks a little like burning bush but I ain't sure.

Hmmm, I think #4 has been ringing a bell for me ( )
I think it is Hamelia patens, "Firecracker Bush" is the common name that I remember.

I'm still not getting #6 tho.

#4 is probably Honeysuckle
