Do you know what kind you have? Is it a rose campion, or a maltese cross? I know both of them like full sun and good drainage. I think, also, that they're really a biennial.

My rose Campion reseeds like CRAZY!! It's got babies all around it. I tranplanted some of them last fall to other spots. They are very easy to start from seed and easy to grow. They prefer good drainage in full/partial sun. As mentioned, they are biennial, producing basal leaves the first year, blooming the second then usually die, although you may get another year out of the same plant especially if you don't let it go to seed. Ther are several other types of Lychnis, so you need to know which one you have.
