Okay so I started this from seed in October. At least I'm almost sure. And I'm also almost sure it came from a pack of seeds that said White Mallow. It was from a trade.(This was before I was organized enough to write the info on the Egg Carton. But i wrote it on a Calendar in my home office. . I've searched for mallows, but haven't found one with this kinda of a leaf. btw the other flowers behind it are Marigold, or at least....

Could it be that the Mallow is at the back and the Marigold in the front?
That's how it looks to me, anyway.

You maybe onto something here Zuzu. If that is the case it makes me very happy. I did sow them together and thought I know which side each was on. Here is a pic of the other ones.

Seeing the second photo,
I can't say with total certainty that those are Mallow seedlings,
but I'd say that it is a fair possibility.

It all depends on what the person who traded them to you calls Mallow.

There are a LOT of plants in the Mallow family, and leaf shapes vary greatly,
from rounded and scalloped, to "heart" shaped, to deeply cut and nearly skeletal.
There are types with fuzzy leaves and types with smooth leaves.

Sooo, now comes the fun part,
where you wait and watch and hope for a wonderful surprise.

In the first picture, the plant in the foreground is a very healthy looking marigold.

Go figure I thought I would only have one "white Mallow" and a few marigolds, but it seems it's the other way around. And if it all turns out to be a wonderful surprise. Oh well. That should teach me for not labelling things as soon as they are sowed.

The one you're calling mallow,
I think the full name would be
Common Mallow: Malva neglecta

Sometimes with the mallow's you have to wait
a wee~bit to see how their growing habits are..
Cause the leaf shapes' are so close...

i recognize that plant.... but for the life of me i cant think of the name... i used to work in a nursury.. and will try to think of that plant. i have the common mallow growing as intrusive weeds in my front yard and wow are they a pain... but i know your little plant there isnt like my weeds.... it'll eventually pop into my head.. or maybe someone else will recognize it
