Does anyone have this new gaillardia? Gaillardias are one of my favorite perennials....last year I got several 'Fanfare' that did really well. I ordered the 'Amber Wheels' from High Country Gardens for next spring. I hope it does as well as the others.

Don't have them but they sure are pretty!!! This is the first I have seen them!! If you have any fanfare seeds I'd sure be interested in some!! I have looked here alll last season but could only find the blanket flower I love them but really want some fanfare! I have the blanket flower still blooming even after our frost!! These are reallly sturdy flowers aren't they!?? Love em'!!

I dont grow gaillardia much, but like you i got 'Fanfare' last year......... quite a pretty little thing!!!!
Not heard of 'Amber Wheels', I will have to look it up and see if its available in the UK....

I planted several of the yellow G. puchella last year. They have reseeded and the mother plants are still alive, too...probably because our winter has been warm so far. They tend to be annual in colder climates. I recently found seeds of the one called 'Sundance' which is bicolored. They are supposed to be easy to start from seed. I also have 2 of the burgandy ones, and they have also reseeded. I thought some of my 'Fanfare' gaillardias were dead because they were nothing but sticks, but I recently noticed some new leaves growing at the base of all but one.

Coool!!!! I think I have become a Gaillardia Nut!!! The nursery I went to said they are getting in More of a variety of G's this coming Thursday I will be there with bells on Friday seeking and finding!! I'm soooo hoping they have the amber wheel.
welllll they are absolutey perfect for this region and they are long lasting and self seed Matter of fact tho it has reached freezing temps a couple of time and is expected to tonight and for the next few days right now I have the blanketflower arizona sun that still has fresh blooms on it!
