OP gardenfairy Member Joined: Jul 2006 Beaufort, SC	We are supposed to have frost tonight, and my Glads, Cannas, and Tulips are all sprouting, I have some Glads about 6 inches already. Will they be okay? Should I cover them?

Anonymous Unregistered A	if you can spread a sheet over them, or rake some leaves/mulch over them. but honestly, they will probably be ok. i'd just call the covering extra insurance.

alankhart Member A Joined: Aug 2002 Knoxville, TN	The frost can definitely nip the cannas, but it won't kill them...they'll just start up again when the weather gets warmer. As mentioned, I would cover them all except maybe for the tulips...they can usually handle frost.
