i know nothing of botany so don't know what this is, but i'm sure it's obvious to those in the know...

looks like a ficus alii. care is similar to that of a ficus benjamina. although, i don't think alii is as prone to dropping leaves.

It does look like a ficus alii to me as well.If you re-pot, use a fast draining mix, maybe some "Perlite" added for extra drainage and only go up one pot size.
Give it bright indirect light, a little bit of some direct sun, (morning or late afternoon light is ok too.
Use a reg fertilizer diluted to half strength or less and only now and then.
