and when do I plant strawberry plants? Can I plant them in window boxes on the ground instead of planting them in the ground or some other type of planter.

any of those will work... last year, I had mine in the ground, and in a coffeepot! laugh

You can probably pick them up at any flower nusery, or anwhere that sells veggie plants...

the reason I asked was last year I tried to find some plants in early spring when I was buying for my vegetable garden and every place I went said it was too late to find strawberry plants. I didn't want to miss the boat this year.

Most all of the seed catalogs have strawberry plants and also some of the nurseries in your area may have them later on. And yes you can grow them in pots or flower boxes.
