I have recently adopted a plant after my Proff passed away and it is not doing well. I need to identify it so that i can look up some help for it.

It looks like this plant "Tillandsia ionantha 'Druid'" but is potted in sandy soil. It has green leaves, like an aloe vera that are smooth on the inside, but on the outside it has small white bumps that form horizontal white stripes. It is only about four inches tall and there are seven of them in an 8 inch pot. I hope somebody can help me out...

I have included a pic of my cactus. If you notice that it has lost its color around the base. It is turning brown. I thought that maybe someone could help with this too. smile
