I bought a few Bradford
flower pear
trees from Home Depot (I think they're from a farm in Texas) hoping to get some shade in my back yard. When I got them home I immediatley watered them since I haven't prepped the holes yet and it would be a few days. Anyway, I noticed that there were 4 little
plants (about an inch high)
growing from the cedar mulch that covered the top 4 inch layer in the 25 gallon plastic container the
trees were in.
I took them out of the mulch and put them in some potting soil to give them some nutrients. I've had them for about a month now and they've not really grown much, about 3 inches.
Can you help me identify them if you can. They are kind of little still. My guess is that they belong to some sort of palm species
