This is the clipping I took from the planter on the main street in Midland this summer. I had it outside in the table garden sconce for a while and it has really grown.

Here it is now, in its indoor home for the winter.

I have no idea what it's called.

Carly, I'm not totally sure, but I think that's a sweet potato vine.

Yup, thumbup Ipomoea batatas 'Blackie', one of the ornamental sweet potato vines.
The more sun mine gets, the darker the leaves become.

Ohhhhhhhh! OK!

I had another potato vine last year - a light green one - it didn't grow indoors. I know where I can get more though 'cause the same planters at the beach have been filled with them, and they just hawk them up and leave them there for the pickins'.

I wonder if I could just put it in the ground and leave it there.

Yep - I've just looked at a few sites with pictures - that's what it is.

Well, I hope I can keep it going indoors - maybe I'll plant some outdoors next year.

Thanks, everyone.
